Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Test Engineer to lead the software development lifecycle for our proprietary automated manufacturing test systems. This role requires a unique blend of software expertise, hands-on experience with electromechanical systems, SQL database management, and data-driven analysis. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and technical proficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement software solutions for automated manufacturing and laboratory testing systems.
Develop and manage SQL databases to support data analysis and reporting.
Ensure software compliance with cybersecurity protocols, corporate governance standards, and industry best practices.
Maintain organized and well-documented codebases using modern version control systems.
Create and deploy enterprise-level data management and reporting tools.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives aligned with internal and customer requirements.
Plan, design, and deliver effective solutions within hybrid development environments.
Conduct system architecture, design, and security reviews.
Develop comprehensive documentation for system and subsystem software.
Provide mentorship and training to junior engineers and interns.
Offer expertise in electromechanical and automation systems and advise on hardware design solutions to meet testing requirements.
Collaborate with manufacturing teams to assess operational feasibility and refine processes.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Expertise in NI TestStand and LabVIEW for software development.
In-depth understanding of electrical architectures related to manufacturing test systems.
Proficient in working with electromechanical devices and data acquisition technologies.
Advanced knowledge of cybersecurity practices and tools.
Strong programming skills in .NET (VB.NET and C#).
Solid experience with relational databases, including SQL Server.
Hands-on knowledge of microcontroller programming and flashing processes.
Familiarity with the SAE J1939 protocol for communication.
Competence in AI technologies, including machine learning and neural networks.
Proficiency with source code management tools such as Git, SVN, or BitBucket.
Familiarity with modern web development tools and frameworks (preferred).
Proven ability to perform under tight deadlines in production-driven environments, preferably in automotive sectors.
Educational and Professional Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Data Science.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in software development and database management for manufacturing environments.
Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
Physical and Travel Requirements:
Ability to work for extended periods at a computer workstation.
Willingness to travel up to 50%, including domestic and international destinations.
Work Environment:
Office, laboratory, and manufacturing environments.
Occasional extended periods in manufacturing settings as required.
