We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Tax Accountant (CPA) to join our dynamic Accounting and Finance team. This is a permanent, full-time position that offers a unique opportunity to leverage your expertise in public accounting, tax planning, and preparation. As a Senior Tax Accountant, you will be responsible for managing and monitoring various tax-related activities within our organization. This role requires a strong understanding of federal and state tax, real estate tax, and corporate tax returns.

Responsibilities

As our Senior Tax Accountant, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to

• Preparing and reviewing corporate, individual, and partnership tax returns.
• Assisting with tax planning and research, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
• Providing support in the preparation of quarterly and annual tax provisions.
• Handling SALT (State and Local Tax) matters, including compliance, audit defense, and planning.
• Utilizing Quickbooks for financial management and reporting.
• Managing tax strategies to maximize profits and efficiency, while ensuring compliance with tax laws.
• Assisting with federal and state audits by preparing supporting schedules, workpapers, and any other necessary data.
• Keeping up-to-date with industry trends and changes in tax law that could impact the company.
• Providing guidance and support to junior staff members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  
  

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for the Senior Tax Accountant position will possess the following qualifications

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA) designation is required.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in public accounting, with a focus on tax.
• Proficient in using Quickbooks and other accounting software.
• Extensive knowledge and understanding of federal and state tax, SALT, and corporate tax returns.
• Experience with tax planning and review, real estate tax, S Corp, and tax preparation.
• Excellent analytical skills, with a strong attention to detail.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts in a clear and concise manner.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines, while maintaining accuracy and quality of work.
• Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
