We are currently seeking a dynamic and highly-experienced Senior Tax Accountant to join our team. This exciting role is an integral part of our finance department and offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, high-tech engineering environment. The Senior Tax Accountant will be responsible for managing all tax-related activities, including preparing tax returns, maintaining tax investment records, and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal tax laws. This position requires a minimum of 5 years of tax accounting experience, preferably in the engineering industry.
Responsibilities:
1. Prepare and review corporate, partnership, and individual tax returns ensuring accuracy and compliance with tax laws.
2. Maintain accurate tax investment records and ensure they are up-to-date.
3. Research and analyze changes in tax legislation, advising management on the impact to the business.
4. Develop tax strategies to optimize tax liabilities and ensure tax efficiency.
5. Collaborate with internal and external auditors during financial and tax audits.
6. Prepare tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740.
7. Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual tax forecasts.
8. Provide guidance and support to junior tax staff, fostering an environment of learning and growth.
9. Liaise with tax authorities and provide tax audit support as needed.
10. Participate in ad-hoc projects as directed by management.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree or CPA certification is highly desirable.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax accounting, with a focus on corporate taxation.
3. Proven experience in tax preparation and maintaining tax investment records.
4. Proficient in tax software and databases, as well as MS Office (particularly Excel).
5. Strong understanding of tax code, compliance and procedures for corporations.
6. Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret tax laws and regulations.
7. Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
8. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate complex tax information to non-tax professionals.
9. Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, and demonstrate a high level of initiative and problem-solving skills.
10. Experience in the engineering industry is a plus.
