Job Summary:
The Systems Engineer role is a high-profile position with overall technical responsibility for developing high quality controls and software products. This individual will be a member of a new product development (NPD) leadership core team, overseeing one or more projects. They will work to define system designs, interfaces, and architectures for Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) embedded controllers, user interfaces, tools, and digital offerings. In addition, they effectively communicate technical direction to senior management and functional teams that span all engineering disciplines, as well as product management, sales, quality, supply chain, and operations.
Responsibilities: As a Systems Engineer in the Controls and Software organization, you will:
- Provide overall technical leadership for new product development projects.
- Participate in all phases of the product development life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, and test.
- Establish system architecture and perform system level design and decomposition into requirements.
- Evaluate trade-offs between possible solution approaches.
- Perform system analysis and interface definition.
- Perform system and performance test planning and execution.
- Lead design reviews and technical project reviews.
- Participate in failure investigation and resolution.
Qualifications:
- Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 5 years minimum of new product development experience
- Knowledge of hardware and software design principles
- Experience defining and deploying communications protocols
- Requirements management experience
