Position Overview
WhirlWind Technologies, LLC is seeking an experienced Sr. System Administrator who will secure network and associated systems for the United States Census Bureau and customer organizations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Installs new software releases, system upgrades, evaluates and installs patches and resolves software related problems.
- Performs system backups and recovery.
- Maintains data files and monitors system configuration to ensure data integrity.
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Works under general supervision; typically reports to a project leader or manager. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Will likely will lead or direct others.
Education
- Minimum BS/BA degree in related field (or equivalent years of experience)
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Enterprise or Security Preferred
Requirements
- Minimum 8 years of related experience
- Creating or updating security infrastructure and continually monitoring networks for unauthorized access or suspicious activities.
- Work with company staff members to help them stay connected and keep their work devices secure while they are online.
- Design and operate a training program, Service Level Agreements (SLA's), and Standard Operating Procedures which help employees understand cybersecurity measures and best practice.
- Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature.
