About the Job
Position Overview:This role will support design development of structural engineering designs for the program project by preparing studies, drawings, calculations, specifications, and evaluations, in accordance with applicable procedures, codes, standards, and contract requirements. Work with other Structural engineers and technical disciplines in a team environmentJob Responsibilities:Development of concrete and steel structural design and drawings, including seismic Foundation design and drawingsAssist with boring oversight and walkdowns of existing facilitiesPerform formal calculations and drawingsReview existing conditions and as-builts drawingsReview customer & vendor information from subcontractors and integrate it into the design solutionDevelop design configuration packages for configuration control, change management, and procurementDevelop design specifications for construction and/or procurementExecute to schedule requirement while maintaining a high degree of quality in work productCoordinate closely with other technical disciplines in planning and executing work as an integrated teamTravel up to 25% of the time to customer and project locations to coordinate designs with team
Basic Qualifications:BS degree in Engineering (Structural or related), from an accredited university, with at least 9 years of relevant experience.US citizenship is required per contract requirementPossess active security clearanceMinimum Qualifications:Experience with Microsoft office programs, VISIO, and other common computer programsExcellent communication skills (both verbal and written)Ability to utilize office automation tools effectively.Knowledge of industry and regulatory guides, codes, and standardsBroad knowledge of the application of Structural engineering design principlesAbility to execute work independentlyPreferred Qualifications:Registered Structural Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the United StatesExperience designing seismic bracing and supportsExperience executing engineering and design with RevitDesign experience with Unified Facilities Criteria and the Whole Building Design GuideExperience working with procedures meeting quality assurance programs such as ASME-NQA-1, MIL-Q-9858A, or ISO-9000Knowledge in use of Bechtel Corporate guides and standardsPrior experience working with government agencies, preferably the Department of DefenseIntermediate knowledge of developing CSI Masterformat specifications, or SpecsIntact
