Position Description

1. Provide support for EMC storage infrastructure (SAN, NFS, CIFS, ISCSI, etc).
2. Troubleshoot complex Linux issues in production, lab, and corporate environments.
3. Manage Backups and Replication.
4. Develop and maintain automation scripts.
5. Deploy and scale production systems with minimal downtime.
6. Secure/harden operating systems against compromise.
7. Work closely with engineering to script and maintain release consistency across environments.
8. Assist in network/Linux infrastructure planning, design, and maintenance.
9. Manage Storage purchase and maintenance renewals.

Position Requirements

1. 7-10 years of experience with Storage administration (EMC/Dell Unity series).
2. 7-10 years of experience with Linux system administration (SUSE, Rocky, Redhat).
3. Experience with Backup solutions (Veeam, Netbackup).
4. Working knowledge of Linux and Virtualization (VMware and Xen).
5. Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP and networking.
6. Strong Linux system programming using a shell and a higher-level language.
7. Strong and current working knowledge of modern x64-based server hardware.
8. Experience building Linux kernels and troubleshooting kernel issues.
9. Willing to participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation.
10. Experience configuring systems and storage for use with databases (Postgres).
11. Strong organization and documentation skills.
12. Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
13. Strong knowledge in various systems disciplines (DNS, LDAP, SMTP, SSH/SSL, NTP, package managers, TPC/IP internals, volume managers/filesystems).
14. Strong hands-on experience configuring and scaling a growing storage infrastructure requirement.
15. Ability to create a capacity plan, redundancy model, and replication on the Dell/EMC Unity platforms.
16. Experience administering and managing collocated servers.

Preferred:

1. Experience with EMC/Dell Unity and VNX platforms.
2. Experience with Brocade SAN switch configuration.
3. Experience with Xenserver/VMWare based server virtualization.
4. Experience with open-source monitoring and alerting systems (eg: Nagios, Zabbix, PRTG, Cacti).
5. Experience with systems automation management tools such as Puppet or Chef.
6. BS in Computer Science.

Personal Requirements

Will be required to come onsite at the Redwood City, California office.

The estimated base salary range for this position is $140,000 - 160,000. Compensation will be based on the candidate's experience, skills, geographic location, and other job-related factors. In addition to base salary, we offer a total compensation package that includes a bonus plan and generous benefits.
