We have an excellent opportunity to join a growing CPG company here in the area looking to bring on a Sr. Staff Accountant. This role is pivotal in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and contributing to the month-end close process. Experience in the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry is a plus.

responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:
- Account Reconciliations
- Prepare and review account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Investigate and resolve reconciling items promptly.
- Month-End Close Assistance
- Support the month-end close process, including preparing journal entries and financial reporting.
- Ensure all deadlines are met for accurate financial reporting.
- Sales and Use Tax Compliance
- Prepare and file sales and use tax returns in accordance with state and local regulations.
- Research and resolve tax discrepancies or issues as needed.
- GAAP Compliance
- Ensure financial statements comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Stay updated on relevant accounting standards and assist in implementing new requirements.
- Ownership of Work
- Take responsibility for assigned tasks and ensure their completion with minimal supervision.
- Proactively identify areas for process improvement and efficiency.
- Collaboration
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to support business operations.
- Provide assistance during audits and ensure compliance with internal controls.
qualifications:
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting,.
- 2-4 years of accounting experience, with familiarity in account reconciliations, sales and use tax, and month-end close processes.
- Strong understanding of GAAP principles
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., JD Edwards, SAP and Excel.
- Experience in the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry is highly desirable.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
