Senior Staff Accountant at The Planet Group

Responsibilities may include:

• Full-Custom Payroll/Time Accounting duties such as: collecting, reviewing, and entering timesheets into the Deltek accounting system; posting labor to the Labor, subcontractor invoices and employee expense forms, posting invoices and expense forms in the Deltek accounting system, and preparing checks for payment.

• Invoicing/Accounts Receivable duties such as: preparing draft trial billings and finalizing trial billings for invoicing; preparing prime as well as other invoices as directed; recording invoices in the Accounts Receivables Journal of Deltek; recording necessary revenue adjustments; and preparing cash deposits and recording cash receipts in Deltek

• Book Closing duties such as: creating and posting end of month entries; reconciling balance sheet and income statement accounts

• Other Support Functions such as: maintaining accounting files; running monthly accounting reports; monitoring cash balance, preparing cash flow analysis, and recommending use of line of credit when necessary; preparing schedules and analysis for outside accountants' review
 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Resource Economics, or other related degrees

• 1-5 years of experience working in an accounting department, internships included

• Prior experience in an office setting

• Prior payroll experience preferred

• Experience working with computerized accounting programs, spreadsheet, and word-processing software packages

• Must be detail oriented and well organized

• Must be self-motivated to work independently and also as part of a team
