Who You Are
You are self-driven and like to work with others to remove roadblocks. You are curious, and love to explore and learn new technologies. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be leveraging your experience working on a public facing enterprise portal. You will be responsible for separating data and functionality as necessary, and will demonstrate an understanding and use of automated testing as a productivity multiplier. You are eager to learn and passionate about improvement. You want to understand how systems work, and you think about how to make them work even better. You will work closely with product managers, UX designers, and other engineers to scope, design, and build new features and functionality. You will be working primarily in JavaScript/React, but prior knowledge is not a requirement.

The Growth team's mission is to identify areas of opportunity within other business units at Justworks, and deliver technology that unlocks value-adds for those teams. Joining our team as a Senior Software Engineer, you will apply your experience with technology to creatively push the boundaries of what's possible for our internal teams, elevating Justworks' technological foundation.
- Scope, prioritize, and execute against the website roadmap in collaboration with internal and external technical teams
- Independently own larged-scoped projects from initial discovery through QA and launch
- Actively participate in managing the website stack, identifying and resolving issues to help maintain a performant website and larger strategic decisions around website architecture
- Collaborate with a cross functional team to find solutions to customer challenges
- Improve the performance, reliability, and scalability of our existing systems
- Take ownership of designing and developing functionalities that are exposed via web
- Promote engineering excellence through technical leadership, knowledge-sharing and mentorship
- Add capabilities to our high-volume, fault-tolerant processing infrastructure
- Enhance our testing, monitoring and continuous deployment infrastructure
- Keep extremely sensitive data compartmentalized and secure
- Work within and expand upon existing agile and sprint working methods
- Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of professional hands-on experience
- Experience implementing complex and reusable UI with animation, responsiveness and accessibility
- Experience with front end frameworks, libraries, and tooling
- Strong understanding of JavaScript, HTML5/DOM, CSS3, and related web technologies
- Experience working with design systems and component-based frontend
- Experience with CMS systems
- Experience supporting other engineers and acting as a "tech lead"
- Experience working closely with designers and product managers
- Strong object-oriented design and coding skills
- Solid understanding of data structures and algorithms
- Experience building new feature from scratch, using clean, organized, and scalable code
- Experience working with complicated systems at scale
- Experience working using Agile/Scrum methodology in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in a high-growth environment working with deadlines and milestones

The base wage range for this position based in our New York City Office is targeted at $167,500.00 to $205,000.00 per year.

Actual compensation is based on multiple factors that are unique to each candidate, including and not limited to skill set, level of relevant experience, and specific work location. Salary ranges for positions based in other locations may differ based on the cost of labor in that location.
