We're seeking a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer to help evolve our next-generation point of sale platform. While this is a full-stack role, the primary focus will be on backend systems and the technologies that power enterprise-grade, distributed applications. You'll have the chance to solve exciting technical challenges, contribute across the stack, and grow in a role with opportunities for advancement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain highly scalable, reliable systems that form the backbone of our POS platform.
- Modernize legacy systems and contribute to the transition from a monolithic architecture to a service-oriented ecosystem.
- Ownership of end-to-end delivery, including release pipelines, deployment processes, and ongoing performance optimizations.
- Develop intuitive tools and features for our merchants using React, TypeScript, and Node.js.
- Collaborate with our DevOps team to ensure efficient, reliable use of AWS cloud infrastructure and deployment practices.
- Implement observability best practices, including defining and tracking SLOs/SLIs to ensure system reliability.
- Partner with cross-functional teams, including product and design, to deliver impactful solutions aligned with business goals.
- Mentor team members, participate in architecture reviews, and contribute to a culture of high-quality engineering.
Requirements:
- 4+ years of professional software engineering experience, with expertise in building and maintaining distributed systems.
- Extensive knowledge and experience working with a back end programming language (preferably Golang) and modern web technologies like TypeScript, React, and Node.js.
- Strong understanding of AWS cloud infrastructure and how it supports distributed systems.
- Familiarity with databases and data storage, such as MongoDB and MySQL.
- Knowledge of observability tools and practices, with experience implementing metrics, logging, and alerting.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate across diverse teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with legacy system modernization and migrating monolithic architectures to distributed systems.
- Proven ability to mentor teammates and foster a collaborative engineering culture.
- Familiarity with high-reliability systems in industries where uptime is critical.
Compensation:
- Our base pay range is $145,000 -$190,000 for this role
- Please note the salary range listed is just one component of a competitive compensation package which includes a company stock plan
- Offers will be reflective of the candidate's location and experience.
