The Online Learning Consortium is seeking a highly motivated and self-directed Senior Researcher for our fully remote non-profit organization. The Senior Researcher designs, conducts and manages the portfolio of research projects that align with the mission, vision, and goals of the Online Learning Consortium. The person in this position identifies research opportunities, conducts primary research using appropriate methodologies, analyzes data, and writes and disseminates results. In addition, the Senior Researcher serves as the Managing Editor of Online Learning, OLC’s highly ranked open access journal. As a key member of OLC’s team, the Senior Researcher collaborates with internal and external stakeholders and advances thought leadership in the field of digital learning.

What you will do:
This is a remote position where you will be working from home. The primary responsibilities of the Senior Researcher are:
- Coordinate the research and publication of assets for an ongoing annual research project
- Identify, research, and publish the results of at least two additional research studies per year, including one sponsored research project
- Conduct regular, brief polls of OLC community members through OLC Today, social media, and other outlets
- Serve as Managing Editor of the Online Learning journal, which includes collaborating with the Editor-in-Chief, supporting editors and authors, and laying out issues
- Contribute to thought leadership by publishing articles in OLC Insights, participating in webinars, and presenting at conferences
- Facilitate at least two 7-day asynchronous workshops per year in OLC’s Center for Professional Learning
- Support the research and reporting needs of grants and consulting
- Doctoral degree or equivalent terminal degree
- 2 or more scholarly research publications
- 5 or more years of professional experience in education, preferably in digital learning
- Demonstrated ability to conduct quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods research
- Strong technical and academic writing and editing skills
- Excellent project management skills, including the ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and produce quality results with attention to detail
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Ability to communicate effectively to partners working in academic settings
- Strong technology literacy skills, including (but not limited to) Google Drive, Slack, Microsoft Office, generative AI tools, and project management software
