Senior Property Accountant - Inland Family of Companies

About the Job
As a Senior Property Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in our team, working closely with property management staff to provide top-notch accounting services and financial reporting for our real estate clients. This position offers you the opportunity to make a significant impact while providing oversight and mentorship for junior team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build Relationships: Foster ongoing, positive relationships with clients to ensure their accounting needs are met with excellence.
- Financial Management: Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management processes, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness.
- Budgeting & Reporting: Conduct bank reconciliations and analyze monthly financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports. Assist the operations team with the annual budget process.
- Close Processes: Ensure timely and accurate month-end close processes, including journal entries and reconciliations. Assist the team in producing monthly financial packages by set deadlines.
- Collaboration: Work closely with property management teams to ensure accurate reporting of property performance.
- Audit Support: Assist with annual audits and tax preparation, collaborating effectively with external auditors.
- Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff, fostering their professional growth and development.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (preferred).
- 3 to 10 years of relevant experience in property accounting or real estate finance.
- Experience with ResMan or another property accounting system is preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with strong Excel skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to shifting priorities.
