Senior Project Manager - Data Center Construction
Location: Des Moines, IA
Metric Geo is seeking a Senior Project Manager for an immediate opening in Des Moines, IA.
This opportunity is an on-site position and is available on a travelling basis with per diem and flights home provided as part of the package.
This role involves providing overall on-site administrative and technical management for mission-critical construction projects within the electrical division of our client.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise construction efforts to ensure projects align with design, budget, and schedule, including interfacing with customer and A-E representatives, contractors, and more.
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee on-site functions such as scheduling, engineering, material control, and day-to-day management of administrative staff.
- Collaborate with estimating and preconstruction teams to set project budgets and understand project scope.
- Oversee CFCI and OFCI vendors to ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials.
- Mentor and coach the site team to achieve personal and professional development goals.
- Maintain updated project logs, reports, and documentation.
- Use ERP systems to generate monthly projections, cash flow projections, and KPIs.
- Create internal and external reports to track status, trends, forecasts, earned value, and other deliverables.
- Identify, analyze, and communicate project risks to management and customers.
- Assist the project management team with addressing project impacts, constraints, RFIs, and document updates affecting field productivity.
- Ensure adherence to safety procedures and job site safety standards.
- Lead and support team initiatives.
- Manage subcontractor and vendor RFPs and ensure compliance with the Purchasing Program.
- Review estimates and change orders per the Estimating Review Policy.
- Supervise craft employees and/or contractors as required.
- Provide technical assistance, including interpreting drawings and recommending construction methods.
- Initiate and manage extra work estimating and change orders.
- Drive productivity, efficient use of materials, and project contractual performance.
- Foster positive relationships with customers, field staff, and office personnel.
- Support business development by participating in calls and engaging potential customers.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Construction Management, or a related field
- 10+ years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Proficiency in project management software platforms
- Experience with hyperscale data center projects, processes, and requirements is preferred but not required
