Amentum is currently seeking qualified candidates to Mid-Level Mechanical (Marine) Engineers to support a NAVSEA Contract and be a member of the Marine Engineering Group. The Marine Engineering Group is the Navy's technical authority for machinery systems for all surface ships, aircraft carriers and submarine classes - including but not limited to developing and designing, evaluating and assessing, analyzing and establishing standards and risks, and demonstrating and implementing new marine system technologies. The marine systems include electrical systems, motors, controls, energy storage, battery system certification, mechanical and hydraulic systems, power generation, shafting, mounting gear, handling equipment, and fluid systems.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Mechanical (marine) Engineer will provide support in the following areas:
- Design, analysis, evaluation, process assessments, root cause analysis, establishing and maintaining specifications and standards, and evaluating risk.
- Specific systems can include electrical systems, motors, controls, energy storage, battery system certification, mechanical and hydraulic systems, power generation, shafting, mounting gear, handling equipment, and fluid systems.
- Performs engineering design evaluations and works to complete projects within budget and scheduling restraints.
- Reviews industry policies and procedures to ensure data accuracy, security, and regulatory compliance.
- Reviews reports of production, malfunction, and maintenance to determine or address problems.
- Provides technical support for the engineering process.
- Additionally, collaborates with other engineering departments and coordinates their disciplines to the development of the project.
- Designs, implements, and communicates, an operational plan for completing the project. Monitors progress and performance against the project plan.
- Takes action to resolve operational problems and minimize delays. Identifies, develops, and gathers resources necessary to complete the project.
- Prepares engineering designs and work specifications.
- Develops project schedules, budgets, and forecasts.
- Selects materials, equipment, project staff, and external contractors.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- 4-7 years of experience and Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering field or related area.
- Must be able to design, analyze, evaluate, process assessments, root cause analysis, establish and maintain specifications and standards, and evaluate risk
- Must be a specialist on complex technical and business matters.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Must have an Active SECRET US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a SECRET Clearance.
