ATCC, a leading nonprofit biological resources and standards organization, is seeking a Senior Project Coordinator with a strong adminstrative background to work a hybrid schedule in Gaithersburg, MD (3 days per week in office including Wednesday). This role involves planning and executing projects from start to finish, organizing cross-functional activities to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and on budget. Additionally, the Senior Project Coordinator will evaluate needs, manage requests for proposals, and provide vital support to our project management team.
Life science background, or degree in Biology or related field highly preferred with prior administrative, customer service or retail experience. Prior experience in taking meeting minutes with speed and acuracy and strong organizational capabilities to keep multiple task orders aligned with contract deliverable and prior life science experience.

Responsibilities:- Monitor and Direct Projects: Oversee small to medium-sized projects or phases of larger projects from initiation through delivery, ensuring adherence to organizational policies and procedures. Establish project timelines, delegate tasks, and track progress to ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget.
- Prepare and Assess Project Plans: Develop and evaluate project plans, document progress, and generate reports for internal and external stakeholders, including Senior Management. Keep accurate records of contracts, invoices, payment records, and project amendments, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date and compliant with contract language.
- Provide Technical Support: Offer expertise in project scheduling, earned value management, budget review, cost analysis, and change of scope impact analysis. Coordinate and prepare for departmental or cross-functional meetings, providing professional administrative support to project teams to facilitate the delivery of new or upgraded products and services.
- Bachelor's degree and 2-5 years' experience or equivalent experience.
- Prior life science background highly preferred.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Asana, Monday) and strong knowledge of project scheduling, earned value management, and budget analysis.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to prepare detailed reports and PowerPoint presentations.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Demonstrated ability to identify project interdependencies and escalate delays or concerns to the project management team.
- Collaborative team player with professional administrative support skills.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing project requirements and priorities.
The expected salary range for this position is $70,000 to $85,000 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience and qualifications as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for additional incentive compensation including regular merit increases and the corporate bonus program.
