In this role, you will:
- Oversee construction-related accounting activities, including job costing, WIP (work-in-progress) reporting, and contract billing
- Prepare and maintain accurate project financial reports, journal entries, and account reconciliations
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including analyzing project budgets and expenses
- Collaborate with project managers and cross-functional teams to ensure financial accuracy and project profitability
- Monitor project performance and perform variance analysis to support decision-making
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company-specific accounting policies
You're a great fit if you have:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related fields
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction accounting or project-based accounting
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, vlookups)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a project team
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with construction-specific accounting software (e.g., Sage, Viewpoint, or similar)
- Familiarity with construction cost accounting, WIP schedules, and job costing
