About the Job
Our client is seeking skilled Plastic Injection Process Technicians in the Newaygo area! These positions are available on 2nd and 3rd shifts and offer the opportunity to work with innovative processes in a state-of-the-art facility. If you have a strong background in plastic injection molding and a passion for improving manufacturing efficiencies, this role is perfect for you.
2nd and 3rd shift openings
Key Responsibilities:
- Start-up and shutdown of plastic injection molding machines, ensuring all subsystems are operational.
- Debug and troubleshoot injection molding process problems to enhance part quality and yields.
- Adjust process parameters and recommend improvements to the Molding Process Engineer or department managers.
- Document any changes made from tolerance and ensure proper communication with appropriate personnel.
- Transfer current processes between presses when needed.
- Monitor all processes related to assigned presses to ensure smooth and efficient operation.
- Resolve product non-conformity issues as requested by team members.
- Identify growth and development opportunities for Manufacturing Set-Up Technicians and Mold Setters.
- Support departmental goals to achieve business objectives related to uptime, part quality, mold change time, and cycle time.
- Perform minor tool repairs and changes of inserts, molds, dies, or fixtures.
- Maintain high housekeeping standards in the department.
- Follow safety procedures, including prescribed lockout procedures.
- Handle, store, and dispose of hazardous and regulated wastes properly.
- Attend and participate in regular work team meetings.
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 5+ years of experience in plastic injection mold processing.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed
Preferences:
- Prior experience in a Tier 1 automotive manufacturing environment

Contract positions
Will be employed and paid hourly by iMPact Business Group. Benefits (medical, dental & vision) are available after 90 days of employment.
