The Petroleum / Fuels Engineer, Senior shall provide and implement design solutions that meet the requirements of the project.
Responsibilities
- Technical leadership associated with the design of petroleum, oil, and lubricants (POL) systems including plans, specifications, and construction details engineering projects.
- Design team management of both internal staff members and sub consultants.
- Site investigation and construction validation.
- Potential domestic and overseas travel.
- Commissioning of petroleum systems.
- Utilize software to create documentation including diagrams, flowcharts, and formulas.
- Engineer designs from initial concept through final construction documents.
- Coordination with project team, customers, consultants, and general contractors to navigate design challenges and generate effective solutions.
- Project execution with a multi-discipline design and engineering team.
- Ensure compliance with government regulations, industry standards, company policy, and customer specifications.
- Manage construction administration responsibilities including review of submittal and shop drawings, RFI responses, conducting site visits, and production of field reports.
- Maintain, establish, and promote technical standards.
- Provide construction oversight and support.
- May be required to perform work on customer sites where they will be required to wear PPE to protect from accidental exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals, fumes or airborne particles, and high noise levels.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Petroleum Engineering from an accredited university.
- Minimum eight (8) years’ experience in the design of petroleum systems for industrial or government facilities.
- Professional Engineer (PE) License Preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Experience working with USACE, AFCEC, and NAVFAC Preferred.
- Ability to obtain Professional Engineer (PE) License within 12 months of hire.
- Ability to create and review API 570 and / or API 653 inspections and reports.
- Experience utilizing Autodesk AutoCAD.
- Possess Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
- Knowledge of local and national codes and the ability to interpret and resolve questions.
- Ability to travel up to 20%, includes both domestic and international.
- Ability to be approved for military Installation access.
