Our OrganizationThe Families in Action for Quality Education coalition (FIA Oakland) unites 40 district and charter school communities representing 16,500 students to build leadership, influence and political power to reposition families, youth and stakeholders as influential school and city-wide leaders. In addition to power building, FIA has a robust and creative approach to new media, hosting podcasts, awards shows and digital media that amplifies our mission. Since 2019 FIA has trained over 1,000 parent and youth leaders who lead impactful campaigns at the school and city level to advance policy and practice changes. FIA has become a force to be reckoned with in Oakland public education.
Key Responsibilities
Campaign Operations Strategy & Execution: You will play a leading role in planning operations strategy to align organization measurable outcomes with campaign milestones. You will take a leading role in campaign project management, leading progress monitoring of key metrics to ensure efficient and timely completion of tasks. You will collaborate with leadership, communications and organizing teams to ensure the seamless operations of our campaigns. You will lead operations execution for 2-3 large scale actions each year including hiring vendors, managing timelines and coordinating volunteers.
Team Project Management & Data Tools: In this area of responsibility, you will manage our data systems like Murmuration and Quorum, ensure the implementation of project management tools, and train new staff on our tools like Google Workspace and monday.com. You will oversee and progress monitor campaign data including CRM, weekly data entry and reports.
General Operations: You will have the chance to support our board of directors by managing communications, scheduling, and meeting logistics. You will also maintain accurate records and provide regular reports on operations-related activities.
Finance: In this area, you will create and manage contracts, vendors, and agreements. You’ll also monitor campaign budgets and operational goals, process invoices and monitor payments for vendors and contractors. Finally, you will ensure documents like ACH forms and W-9s are completed and filed.
Other: Contribute to our mission-driven culture and model leadership. Perform other duties as required to support the work of colleagues and the organization’s mission as a whole.
About the Role
This is a full-time, non exempt position. FIA uses a hybrid model with three in-office work days and two remote work days per week, in addition to some in-person and virtual evening meetings.
Compensation, Benefits and Professional DevelopmentWe offer a competitive salary and an excellent benefits package including health care and an employer-matched 401K retirement plan. Annual compensation range is from $80k - 110k and is dependent on the candidate’s experience and demonstrated impact.

Driver License and Eligibility to Work: A valid driver's license and reliable, insured vehicle (needed to fulfill job requirements) and proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
Preferred:
Oakland Education Experience: experience working in the Oakland education ecosystem is preferred but not required. School site operations experience is especially valued.
Financial Experience: experience working with financial operations in a previous role is preferable for this role but not a requirement.
Experience in Multiracial, Multilingual Communities: the ideal candidate will have shared life experiences and/or identities with the families we work with in Oakland and/or experience working in African American, Latinx communities and/or multiracial, multilingual communities.
Technical Expertise: experience working with our tools is nice-to-have but not required. Currently, these include Murmuration, Quorum, Monday.com, and Google Workspace.
Proficiency in Spanish: is desirable but not required.
