Hybrid role in Canton MA. Our client's IT Team is seeking a skilled, dedicated, and professional Senior Network Systems Administrator to join their expanding team. This person will play a critical role in managing and maintaining a secure and stable Windows/Linux networking environment with a strong focus on cybersecurity, back-up and disaster recovery.
Due to client requirement, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.
Rate: $60 - $70 / hr. w2
Responsibilities:
- Administer and maintain a Windows-based and Linux networking environment ensuring the security, stability, and optimal performance of all systems.
- Manage and maintain virtual machines within VMWare environment
- Administer & manage hardware such as SAN, NAS, switches, physical servers, firewalls
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive backup and disaster recovery plan to ensure business continuity in the event of data loss, hardware failure, or other unforeseen incidents.
- Maintain and update network security policies, procedures, and protocols to protect sensitive information and reduce the risk of cyberattacks.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot any issues, collaborating with the IT team and external vendors as necessary.
- Provide exceptional customer service and end-user support for network and systems-related issues, including hardware, software, and connectivity problems.
- Develop and maintain accurate network documentation, including system configurations, network diagrams, and inventory records.
- Plan and execute network and system upgrades, ensuring minimal downtime and seamless integration with existing infrastructure.
- Implement and manage a robust patch management process to maintain up-to-date system and software security across all network devices and servers.
- Collaborate with other IT staff and management to support company-wide technology initiatives and projects, demonstrating strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Participate in a weekend rotation for on-call IT support, providing timely assistance and troubleshooting for urgent issues that may arise outside of regular business hours.
Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in network administration, with a focus on Windows networking environments, Linux server management, Azure Active Directory, Wi-Fi network, and patch management.
- Demonstrated experience in a mid to senior-level role, providing guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and Azure Active Directory,
- Experience with Linux server administration, including the configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of services such as Apache and MySQL
- Familiarity with network security best practices, firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
- Experience with backup and disaster recovery planning and implementation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex network and system issues.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical team members and provide exceptional customer service.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, working effectively with team members and stakeholders.
- Relevant certifications, such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), are a plus.
Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.
