Senior Network Engineer - TalentoHC

TalentoHC is partnered with a healthcare organization in Miami, FL seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join their IT organization.

The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for the planning, design, configuration, implementation, testing, and transition to steady-state support of enterprise infrastructure, including networks, telecommunications, and network applications.

This role ensures the network's reliability, availability, and performance, which are vital for supporting the organization’s daily operations and long-term strategic objectives.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain the company’s network and voice infrastructure, ensuring seamless connectivity across the company’s LAN/WAN, including all physical and virtual networking environments.
• Develop, implement, and maintain network security systems, such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and VPN gateways, to safeguard the company’s sensitive data and systems from unauthorized access.
• Collaborate with customers, vendors, and third-party agencies to coordinate the implementation of secure connectivity solutions.
• Respond to technical assistance requests from users, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues. Provide support and training to end-users on system and application usage.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of network infrastructure, user accounts, and system backups, and provide regular reports to management on network performance, availability, and security.
• Oversee the daily operations of other staff members, including hiring, training, providing work direction, and assisting with problem-solving.
• Ensure network packet loss remains below 2%.
• Maintain network availability (excluding planned downtime) above 98%.
• Keep average network round-trip latency under 100 ms.

Requirements

• A degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is strongly preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in an infrastructure engineering role.
• Experience in designing, implementing, and administering SD-WAN technology is highly desirable.
• Relevant certifications such as Juniper JNCIP-ENT or Cisco CCNP are required, with Juniper JNCIE-ENT or Cisco CCIE preferred.
