TransCore, a subsidiary of ST Engineering, is seeking a full-time Senior Network Engineer to join our team in the New York City/North New Jersey area.
Summary: The Sr. Network Engineer is accountable for architecting and implementing the physical and logical network topology as well as the network infrastructure components required to support TransCore’s Lane and Back Office Solution.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Design efficient and secure networking solutions to support multiple customer projects.
- Implement complex WAN and LAN configurations.
- Troubleshoots, diagnoses, and resolves complex WAN and LAN issues.
- Manages infrastructure changes and projects.
- Works closely with vendors for ongoing support of major products.
- Coordinates down times due to scheduled maintenance, and works directly with operations, support, and development personnel and vendors.
- Mentor and guide less senior team members.
- Prepares routine progress reports for management on all activities, and performs other related duties as directed.
- Orders and oversees installation of new voice and data circuits.
- Provides monitoring and reports of the operational status of LAN/WAN environment.
- Interacts with vendors.
- Understand telephone technologies such as POTS, PSTN, and SIP trunks.
- Understand voice gateways and call flow logic.
- Extensive knowledge and experience with all aspects of edge networks and WAN architectures, including protocols such as BGP, OSPF, MPLS, and strategies such as capacity planning, routing policies. Good knowledge in WAN Technologies like ACL, NAT, and PAT, IPsec, and VPNs.
- Firewall design and configuration (Cisco ASA, FTD, and Palo Alto preferred)
- Ability to Analyze network device logs and capture and analyze network traffic
- Routing experience required (BGP, DMVPN, OSPF, EIGRP and SD-WAN)
- Deploy and configure firewalls such as Cisco ASA or Palo Alto Next-Gen, including VPN provisioning, troubleshooting, and access control lists implementation and assist with design and implementation of Security tools (SEIM, IDS/IPS & WAF)
Skill Set (Required & Preferred):
- Minimum of five years sizing, installing, configuring, and supporting network devices from Cisco, and Palo Alto.
- Minimum of five years designing and implementing both the physical and logical network topology as well as making good network design decisions. (Required)
- Minimum of five years working with outside vendors regarding network communications, data center co-location facilities, phone & IVR systems, SAN(s), etc. (Required)
- Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience
- Ability to travel approximately 15% of the time. (Required)
- Highly motivated and a self-starter. (Required)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (Required)
- CCNP, CISSP, MCSE, or PCNSE certifications
- Understanding of wireless networking, network monitoring, and IP routing
- Understanding of PCI compliance
Salary Range: $125,000 to 140,000 annually, based upon experience.
