The Senior Manager of SEC Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting performs a broad range of corporate accounting functions. This role will be primarily responsible for the preparation and/or review of the company's SEC filings, assessment of new or complex accounting issues arising from both business transactions and the implementation of new accounting pronouncements. This role will also act as liaison with the third-party professional service firms for SOX404 compliance testing. The position will play an essential part in ensuring the accuracy of the company's external financial reporting. The individual selected for this position will interact with all levels of management, ensure timely and accurate reporting and assist with multiple financial projects and initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the SEC financial reporting process including preparation of the Form 10-Q, Form 10-K, quarterly earnings releases (Form 8-K) and related XBRL requirements with a focus on accuracy and continuous improvement. This includes coordination of the review of SEC filings with the Finance Team, external auditors, legal counsel, and executive management;
- Manage the preparation and maintain clear and accurate support for all areas of our external reporting process, including the Statement of Cash Flows, Statement of Stockholders’ Equity, EPS calculations, and Share-Based Compensation accounting;
- Assist the Company’s Legal Team in the preparation of the Annual Proxy Statement (DEF 14A);
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting rules as well as a working knowledge of SEC disclosure and reporting requirements ;
- Lead the evaluation and adoption of accounting standard updates, SEC regulations related to financial reporting including drafting and maintaining relevant accounting policies ;
- Lead the preparation of technical accounting memos for the Company’s accounting position on complex technical nonroutine business transactions including technical accounting research assistance related to revenue recognition;
- Respond to technical accounting inquiries from field operators, finance members and external auditors;
- Lead the preparation, analyses, and documentation surrounding goodwill, intangibles and long-lived assets impairment assessment, leases: lessee and lessor accounting (ASC 842), M&A and business combination accounting, on as needed basis;
- Help ensure the Company is compliant with SOX404 by managing the relationship with outside professional firm for SOX404 testing ;
- Liaise with outside professional firms for SOX404 compliance testing and external audit;
- Participate in or lead other special projects, as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or other related discipline OR Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance or other related disciplines
- Minimum nine years combined work experience with six years of experience in Big 4 public accounting with at least a manager title and three years SEC reporting and technical accounting role in industry.
- U.S. CPA
- Adept to using NetSuite, EquityEdge Online, SOX404 Project Management Platform and SEC Reporting Platform
- In-depth technical knowledge of SEC regulations and U.S, GAAP
- Strongly demonstrated analytical, research and organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent time management skill and ability to manage multiple projects, setting goals, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines
