Job Description
The ideal candidate is a motivated, well-organized individual who has a deep understanding of prospecting and developing strong relationships with customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership:
Serve as the primary site leader, ensuring a positive and engaging work environment.
Supervise and mentor facility staff, including technicians, engineers, and administrative personnel, to foster a high-performance culture.
Provide ongoing coaching, training, and professional development opportunities to enhance team skills and capabilities.
Foster collaboration and teamwork across departments and functions to achieve shared goals and objectives.
Conduct performance evaluations, set clear performance expectations, and recognize achievements to motivate and retain top talent.
Promote a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and operational excellence throughout the facility organization.
Project Management:
Plan, coordinate, and execute facilities projects, including new construction, renovations, expansions, and equipment installations, within established timelines and budgets.
Develop project scopes, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with cross functional teams and stakeholders.
Monitor project progress, milestones, and expenditures, and provide regular updates to senior management and project sponsors.
Investigate and identify root-cause of any problems that arise with processes, procedures, and operations.
Conduct post-project evaluations to assess outcomes, capture lessons learned, and identify opportunities for process improvement.
Office/Operations Management:
Coordinate office space planning, allocation, and utilization to optimize efficiency and support business operations.
Manage office services including janitorial, catering, and security to ensure a safe and productive work environment.
Oversee administrative functions such as mail distribution, supplies procurement, and vendor management to support daily operations.
Develop and implement policies and procedures to streamline office operations and improve workflow.
Serve as a liaison between office staff and senior management to address operational needs and facilitate communication.
Facilities Management:
Ensure the efficient operation of facility systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and production equipment to minimize downtime.
Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance programs to maintain facility infrastructure and extend equipment life.
Manage facility improvement projects, from planning and budgeting to execution and completion, to meet manufacturing demands.
Monitor and optimize energy usage and sustainability initiatives to reduce costs and enhance environmental stewardship.
Collaborate with external vendors, contractors, and consultants to ensure quality service delivery and compliance with safety standards.
Safety and Compliance:
Develop and execute operational strategies by working with all levels of the organization to ensure company goals in safety, quality, productivity, customer service, and cost are met.
Champion a culture of safety and compliance throughout the plant, ensuring all processes and procedures related to occupational safety, environmental protection, and facility operation meet local, state, and federal regulations.
Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and emergency preparedness drills to maintain a safe working environment.
Implement and enforce safety policies and procedures to promote a culture of workplace safety and accident prevention.
Investigate incidents and near misses, analyze root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Maintain documentation and records related to safety inspections, training, and compliance with regulatory agencies.
Manufacturing/Production Support:
Work closely with production and engineering teams to provide timely facilities support that aligns with manufacturing schedules and requirements.
Perform all operations in compliance with all applicable regulations (ISO, GMP, etc).
Troubleshoot and resolve facility-related issues to minimize production disruptions and maintain high operational efficiency.
Assist in planning and implementation of changes to machinery and equipment, production systems and methods of work.
Support Lean manufacturing initiatives by optimizing space utilization and implementing continuous improvement projects.
Coordinate with logistics and supply chain teams to facilitate seamless material flow and warehouse operations.
Budget Management:
Develop and manage the budget, including operational expenses, capital expenditures, and maintenance costs.
Monitor spending against budget allocations and implement cost-saving measures without compromising safety or operational efficiency.
Negotiate contracts with vendors, suppliers, and service providers to obtain competitive pricing and maximize budgetary resources.
Prepare financial reports, forecasts, and variance analyses for senior management to support decision-making and strategic planning.
Implement financial controls and policies to ensure transparency, accountability, and compliance with corporate guidelines.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Construction, or related discipline highly preferred
At least 10 years of operations management experience; significant experience in engineering and maintenance of manufacturing facilities
7+ years successful and progressive management experience in a production and manufacturing environment and experience in the power electronics industry strongly preferred
Experience in factory power/energy saving or clean energy projects
Previous experience building a strong and positive team environment, and experience managing leaders successfully
Financial management, capital management, and budget knowledge, as well as the ability to interpret and analyze financial data
Analytic skills, particularly using Microsoft Excel to gather, manipulate and comprehend data
Demonstrated success identifying and implementing successful Continuous Process Improvement programs
Bilingual in English and Mandarin is a plus
