Your Impact
The Senior Manager, Accounting will be responsible for the oversight and management of all accounting matters in the US. This includes ownership of the month-end accounting close and reporting process, internal and external audit coordination, as well as any local, government or statutory reporting needs. This role will be critical in helping establish and maintain consistency in the monthly accounting close cycle while enhancing accounting policies and best practices. The Senior Manager of Accounting is expected to identify and implement process improvements in a continuous effort to drive timely and accurate financial reporting. This role requires strong team leadership skills, specifically managing and building best-in-class, operationally focused teams and fostering effective and collaborative cross-functional relationships.
What You'll Do
Location: Hybrid Onsite Presence based at our US Hubs - Scottsdale, Seattle, Boston, Washington, DC, Denver, San Francisco, or Atlanta
Reports to: Senior Director, Corporate Accounting and Global Consolidations
- Oversee the monthly US GAAP financial close process. This will occur through both direct management and indirect influence of the teams.
- Month-end accounting close responsibilities including review and approval of journal entries, variance analysis and account reconciliations, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and internal policies.
- Monitor and maintain the SOX control structure and ensure proper coordination with internal and external audit for timely completion and execution of all audit work.
- Collaborate with business and functional leaders, including Commercial Controllership, Revenue, FP&A, SEC reporting, Tax, IT, and Internal Audit to coordinate information flow and drive operational excellence and robust controls to deliver a high quality and timely close.
- Build and develop a high-performance team, establish and continuously improve business processes and procedures to drive scalability in a high growth environment
- Oversee the analysis and diagnosis of KPI and productivity Close metrics to optimize operational results over time
- Lead from the front in utilizing technology, automation and RPA tools to improve current processes and gain scalability across the global closing & reporting cycle
- Experience with transfer pricing accounting in collaboration with Tax department
- Assist in special projects such as M&A integration, ERP upgrade, consolidation tool and new accounting and reporting standards implementation
What You Bring
- 8+ years of relevant experience
- BS or equivalent in accounting or finance
- CPA required
- A mix of Big 4 and industry experience managing global consolidations and financial systems function at complex and multi-national publicly-traded companies
- Experience with ERP systems and reporting tools (D365, HFM, OneStream, Microsoft office and Power platform)
- Strong analytical skills with experience in implementing various analytical techniques for Close cycle
- Experience in managing a team
- Strong business acumen and continuous improvement mindset
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
- Experience with M&A integration
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Strong leadership, communication, organization and technology skills

The Pay: Axon is a total compensation company, meaning compensation is made up of base pay, bonus, and stock awards. The starting base pay for this role is between USD 117,525 in the lowest geographic market and USD 188,040 in the highest geographic market. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: level, function, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, geographic market, and often a combination of all these factors.
