Position Overview:
The Senior Living Sales and Marketing Director is responsible for leading the sales and marketing efforts for the senior living community, ensuring the achievement of occupancy and revenue goals while promoting the community's brand and value proposition. This role involves developing, executing, and monitoring sales strategies, managing the sales team, and building strong relationships with prospective residents, their families, and referral sources.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy & Leadership:
- Lead the development and execution of the sales and marketing strategy to drive occupancy growth and meet revenue targets.
- Oversee the sales team, providing leadership, mentorship, and coaching to ensure the team achieves individual and collective sales goals.
- Monitor the performance of sales and marketing activities, adjusting strategies and tactics as necessary to ensure success.
- Cultivate relationships with prospective residents, families, healthcare professionals, and referral sources.
- Conduct regular sales and marketing meetings to review progress, set goals, and provide updates to senior leadership.
Marketing and Brand Management:
- Develop and implement marketing campaigns and programs to raise awareness of the community and its offerings.
- Oversee the creation and execution of all marketing materials (print, digital, social media, and advertising) to ensure consistency with brand standards.
- Manage the community’s website, social media presence, and other digital marketing platforms.
- Organize and host community events, tours, open houses, and promotional activities to showcase the senior living community.
- Track and analyze the effectiveness of marketing efforts, adjusting strategies to optimize ROI.
Customer Relationship Management:
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by providing exceptional service and personalized care throughout the inquiry, move-in, and resident engagement process.
- Develop and maintain relationships with current and prospective residents, families, and influencers in the senior care space.
- Serve as a resource for prospective residents and their families, providing them with relevant information about the community, care options, amenities, and financial considerations.
- Create and maintain a follow-up system to ensure consistent communication with prospective leads, while advancing them through the sales pipeline.
Collaboration with Operations Team:
- Work closely with the Executive Director, Operations Team, and the Clinical/Health an Wellness team to ensure alignment on sales efforts, community goals, and resident care expectations.
- Coordinate with the Admissions team to facilitate a smooth transition for new residents and families.
- Communicate regularly with the leadership team to assess market trends, competitor activities, and overall community performance.
Budgeting and Reporting:
- Prepare and manage the sales and marketing budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources to achieve maximum impact.
- Provide regular reporting and analytics on sales performance, marketing effectiveness, and occupancy trends to leadership.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and company-specific standards for marketing and sales activities.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Healthcare Administration, or related field is a plus!
- Minimum of 1 years of experience in sales and marketing in a senior living, healthcare, or related field (required).
- Proven experience in senior living sales, occupancy management, and/or marketing.
- Strong knowledge of digital marketing, social media strategies, and CRM tools.
- Experience managing a team and achieving sales targets in a competitive environment.
Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and team management abilities.
- High level of organization and attention to detail.
- Ability to think strategically while remaining focused on day-to-day execution.
- Proficiency in MS Office, CRM software, and data analytics tools.
- In-depth understanding of the senior living market, including competitive landscape and market trends.
- Ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including families, referral sources, and senior leadership.
Certifications and Licenses:
- Certification in sales, marketing, or senior living (preferred).
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for outreach and community visits.
Working Conditions:
- Standard office hours with occasional evenings or weekends for events and tours.
- Occasional travel required for networking, marketing events, and industry conferences.
