Senior Fixed Asset Accounting Contractor - Unity Search Group

Our client, a growing company in North Dallas, is seeking a Senior Accountant with expertise in fixed asset accounting to join their team on a contract-to-hire basis. In this role, you’ll manage fixed asset accounting, including capitalizations, depreciation, and reconciliations, while contributing to the month-end close process and process improvement initiatives. This role requires a hybrid schedule (3 days in the office, 2 days working remotely each week). Strong Excel skills (SUM/IFS, VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) are required, and familiarity with Great Plains is a plus. Job Responsibilities: 

• Manage fixed asset accounting, including capitalizations, depreciation, and disposals
• Assist with the month-end close process and fixed asset reconciliations
• Prepare journal entries and reconciliations for fixed assets
• Collaborate with the finance team to improve and create accounting processes and procedures
• Utilize Excel for financial analysis (SUM/IFS, VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables)
• Support during month-end closing, with some overtime as needed

Requirements: 

• Proven experience in Fixed Asset Accounting
• At least 4 years of accounting experience, with a preference for large company experience
• Strong proficiency in Excel (SUM/IFS, VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables)
• Familiarity with Great Plains (a plus, but not required)
• Ability to manage complex accounting processes and contribute to process improvement
• Open to contract-to-hire opportunities with a flexible work schedule
