Position Overview:
- Responsible for the reporting and analysis of net patient service revenue by payer and financial class.
- Will design and maintain financial spreadsheets, databases and systems to accurately track and report AR, contractual allowances and payments by payer to be used in the calculation of allowance on non-zero balance accounts during the monthly contractual allowance accrual process.
- Will help coordinate activities of accountants in preparing monthly schedules of contractual allowance and bad debt accruals. Help identify data issues, problems, or data anomalies and be able to present solutions in a timely manner.
- Will also report and analyze monthly bad debt and charity care expenses. Additional responsibilities include supporting all of the independent and Federal and State government and payer audits.
- Will assist in any additional financial accounting duties as assigned. Analyst will work with the Director of Patient Financial Services to trend and reduce insurance denials. Will also work closely with the Controller on financial reimbursement projects for other entities.
- Primary Customers: Accounting Manager, Director of Accounting, Controller, Fiscal Services Department, Patient Financial Services Department, Client Health and Administrative Team.

- Monthly Financial Reporting Close:
- Assist with expense and accrual analyses on a monthly basis as assigned.
- Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting schedules.
- Third Party Reimbursement:
- Prepares monthly third party contractual allowance calculations and analyses for all entities by maintaining query files and monthly preparing calculation worksheets and journal entries.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of systems and procedures to optimize reimbursement from third party payers including Medicare, Medicaid Client and Managed Care companies.
- Assists with potential reimbursement project reviews as necessary.
- Coordinates and oversees monthly and annual bad debt and charity care expense calculations and analyses.
- Updates the Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement rates as directed.
- Coordinates and oversees the completion of third party financial analysis as required.
- Prepares and files the annual Medicare, Medicaid, and CHAMPUS cost reports with the help of third party consulting firm.
- Prepares annual contractual allowance, bad debt and charity care budgets with supporting schedules.
- Assists with wage index annual review.
- Participates in the Denial Committee meetings.
- Works with the Director of Patient Financial Services to analyze third party payer payment issues.
- Works with Care Management to address third party payer requests.
- Work with Epic team to ensure AR financial requirements are addressed in functional requirements and reporting needs.

Pay Rate: $50.00. - $75.00/hr.
