Senior Financial Analyst
Medical Device Manufacturing, growth to Plant Controller
Location
- Irvine, CA (2 days in-office / 3 days out, very flexible!)
Position Overview
This role supports manufacturing operations and engineering leadership to drive financial performance and value within production processes. Responsibilities include preparing and analyzing financial reports, forecasts, and budgets, performing variance analysis for key performance indicators, and supporting monthly accounting entries. Reporting to the Manager of FP&A, this position will evolve alongside the company's growth trajectory.
Responsibilities
- Partner with manufacturing and engineering leadership to provide financial insights for operational projects, including capital investments.
- Assist in the development of strategic plans, annual budgets, and forecasts.
- Prepare monthly financial reports with variance and trend analyses to enhance plant performance.
- Track and analyze key metrics such as headcount and inventory.
- Investigate and support monthly accounting activities, including open invoices, accruals, and journal entries.
- Collaborate with the accounting team on financial treatment of projects and operational activities.
- Identify and implement process improvements for streamlined reporting and analytics.
- Automate month-end reporting workflows where applicable.
- Conduct ad hoc financial analyses, such as scenario planning and cost assessments.
- Act as a finance lead for assigned projects, overseeing the financial planning of new investments and initiatives.
- Support the consolidation of strategic plans, budgets, and forecasts for assigned operational areas.
- Manage financial tracking and reporting for operational savings and cost initiatives.
- Provide capital expenditure (CapEx) management and financial evaluations for operations departments.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in finance or accounting.
- Proficiency in financial systems (e.g., SAP) and advanced Excel skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Strong analytical and communication abilities.
- Experience in manufacturing or operations finance.
- Familiarity with inventory management and lean methodologies.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Team-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be available to work on-site 2-3 days per week.
