Salary Range: $46 - $50 hourly
Candidates with previous experience working at Microsoft Corporation, either as a full-time employee (FTE) or contractor, are strongly preferred.
Role Summary:
This role will contribute to System Automation and Improvement by addressing system failures and moving from manual to automated processes for asset lifecycle management, including setting up and retiring assets and ensuring accurate accounting. Process Improvement by reviewing and revamping old processes and narratives to improve efficiency and align with current operational standards. Conducting audits and process reviews to identify inefficiencies and improve existing processes, ensuring they are up-to-date and effective.
Job Responsibilities:
The Cloud Infrastructure Strategy, Planning & Delivery (CISPD) finance team is responsible for delivering cloud capacity at the right time, right place, and right cost. We are seeking a driven Finance professional to join our Fixed Asset Enablement Team. The successful candidate will bring a combination of deep financial modeling and technical skills. This role will be in the center of our growing cloud business and the responsibilities include:
Cloud Fixed Asset Enablement to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, while enhancing the controls and mitigating risks.
Leadership role in guiding and enabling accounting treatment and processes for cloud network services.
Partner with finance to drive insight and clarity on Cloud network services accounting guidance to help inform business decisions and financial planning (forecast, targets, long range planning).
Participate with a high performing team to add to thought leadership for Business Enablement.
Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and Microsoft Policy; enable controls to safeguard assets and accurate financial reporting.
Collaborate with stakeholders to meet regulatory, audit and compliance requirements.
Build and manage close partnerships with teams across Engineering, Operations, Finance, and Business.

Top 3 Hard Skills Required + Years of Experience:
1. Minimum 5+ years experience with Accounting Background; It is Essential for understanding journal entries and the accounting system
2. Minimum 5+ years experience with SAP Experience; Proficiency in SAP, as it is the main ERP system used.
3. Minimum 5+ years experience with Excel; Intermediate Skills; Ability to use pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and formulas.
***Nice to have experience within SQL, and process improvement
Requirements/Qualifications:
Years of Experience Required: 5+ overall years of experience in the field.
Degrees or certifications required: Bachelor's degree in accounting or related financial discipline is required to be eligible for this role. It would also be nice to have a CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or Master's Degree but is not required.
Disqualifiers: Candidates who do not have Accounting or less than 5 Years of relevant experience will not be eligible for the role.
Best vs. Average: The ideal resume would contain strong Accounting background with demonstrated experience with journal entries and accounting systems. Experience in process improvement, SQL knowledge, specifically familiarity with SQL databases.
Performance Indicators: Performance will be assessed based on quality of work and meeting deadlines.
