Position SummaryThe FP&A Business Partner will serve as the trusted advisor and partner to the Chief Supply Chain Officer and to their leadership team. The incumbent will be responsible for leading the financial planning and analysis processes, conducting margin and expense analytics on the P&L, liaising with business functions, and providing broad decision support and advisory to business leaders. Reporting to the FP&A Leader, the incumbent will oversee and lead business reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. This position will partner closely with Regional Controllers and Business Unit leaders to develop rolling financial plans, analyze results, and assess business performance. The FP&A Partner will be responsible to deliver outputs in a consistent, standardized format, and to provide ongoing input to continually improve and streamline processes. This position will be responsible to deliver timely analysis and insights including margin and profitability analysis, contract review, KPI reporting, and expense analysis. The incumbent will also be responsible to help drive a culture of proactive, collaborative partnership between all functions, Accounting and FP&A teams. The FP&A partner will act as a point of contact for business leaders to liaise further into the organization, including with functional stakeholders such as Finance and IT.
What Will you do?
- Oversees all business financial planning and analysis activities, driving data driven Business decisions
- Provide timely analysis and prepared insights to best position the business team to drive profitable growth and to deliver on annual targets
- Lead the businesses annual budget and rolling forecasts, including relevant financial analysis around expenses, and sales and margins if applicable. Simplify approach where possible, while still maintaining planning accuracy and integrity. Support business leaders to work with the standardized tools and systems to deliver respective plans.
- Prepare and deliver ongoing and action oriented financial analysis, leading to improved financial performance of the Business SG&A, volumes, sales, margins
- Lead reporting, as needed, on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis. Tell the story and provide meaningful analytics to support
- Continually provide input for opportunities for improvement, and align with global approach/processes when feasible.
- Oversee monthly/quarterly/annual reporting process for business performance, which culminates in comprehensive meetings with CEO/CFO describing in-depth performance KPI’s by department, customer and product line. Ensure these reviews are aligned with (provided) consistent format, and that major identified themes are clear and succinct. Focus these reviews for 1) a deep understanding of performance drivers, 2) expectations around future performance and 3) actionable inputs/takeaways.
- Deliver overall analysis on working capital through provided consistent reporting and projecting, and proactive activities such as contract term review and inventory management analysis
- Primary point of contact for assigned business partner
- Participates as member in the global commercial FP&A team. Identifies process improvements that support FP&A in becoming more efficient and effective.
- Stay current with industry, market and performance development trends both internally and externally. Additionally, stay up to date with use of systems and tools in finance and commercial organization (PBI, CRM, etc).
- Assist with special projects, including globally, as needed.
What do we look for?
- Bachelor’s degree (BS) in accounting, finance, or engineering with MBA preferred
- 7+ years progressive, related experience in global finance functions, with specific focus on FP&A, analysis and global FP&A compilation, analysis and reporting. Experience supporting upper level management preferred. Knowledge of business partnership and profitability enhancement required. Knowledge of chemicals, steel and metalworking industry and automotive industry preferred. Global or multi-national business experience strongly preferred
