As a Senior Estimator, you'll work closely with the Preconstruction team in managing specific project assignments while focusing on cost leadership strategies for our clients. You'll provide leadership in preparing estimate deliverables, reviewing project plans and specifications, and overall coordination of internal estimating resources to execute projects.
What You Will Do:
As Senior Estimator, your primarydaily responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
- Supervise, check work, and mentor Estimators and Estimating Engineers.
- Develops and oversees conceptual estimates for assigned projects, supports the planning and engineering groups in the development of all levels of estimates, and collects and analyzes close-out and benchmark data.
- Leads major estimating efforts.
- Develops and clarifies estimate reports.
- Cultivates strong subcontractor knowledge and relations.
- Experienced in presenting estimating results to clients and stakeholders.
- Demonstrates knowledge of all civil structure architectural trades.
- Competent at conceptual and detailed levels of estimating.
- Value engineering leadership and tracking.
- Drives deadlines and achieves results.
- Mastery of scope review process.
- Mastery of estimating software programs including on-screen take-off.
- Consults with architects and engineers on project parameters.
- Ensures database-pricing updates are completed.
What You Will Bring to the Team:
Required experience, knowledge, and skills for this role include:
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, Engineering, Business, Finance, or a related job field.
- Eight (8) years of estimating experience in construction or related job field.
- OR Equivalent combination of the above education, training, and experience.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Ten (10) years of commercial construction experience.
- Capability to complete large Construction Management (CM) and General Contractor (GC) Construction Management at Risk and Design Build projects and large complex competitive bid projects.
- Additional Eligibility Qualifications
- Independent sales strengths for presentations and project pursuits.
- History of successfully working relationships with the internal operation team and externally with owners, architects/engineers, and subcontractors.
- Attention to detail: observant, accomplishes task accurately the first time; does not let things fall through the cracks.
- Is dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers, establishes and maintains effective relationships with customers, and gains their trust and respect.
- Makes good decisions based upon a mixture of analysis, experience, and judgement.
- Provides advice and solutions to others.
- Strong computer knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:
The majority of work is completed outside at the construction site and in an office trailer where the project is monitored, and daily decisions are made about construction activities. The position is often exposed to sounds and loud noises, such as construction equipment. The job requires the wearing of protective equipment when on the construction site (hardhats, safety glasses, and highly visible clothing). Temperatures and conditions may vary depending on the weather and seasons. As part of our focus on being a Great Place to Work, we want to make sure we are clear on a few more basics we expect:
- Ability to occasionally stand, walk, sit, reach (with hands and arms), climb, balance stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Must be able to talk, hear, use hands and fingers to handle or feel, be able to use a telephone and operate a keyboard.
- Be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
