Job Overview:
The Senior Enterprise Systems Analyst is part of the IT Enterprise Application team focused on delivering and supporting technology for Student Services at GW. They will play a critical role in streamlining business processes, ensuring accurate and reliable student data, and enhancing the digital experience for students, faculty, and staff. Serving as a consultant, they will understand the technology capabilities and roadmap and advise on the implementation of solutions that solve business problems.
Job Responsibilities:
- Utilize Business Analysis skills and best practices to identify functional requirements, write specifications and test plans, build reports, workflows and forms, and solicit feedback for system improvements.
- Collaborate with IT, student services, and academic departments to identify opportunities for system optimization. Build knowledge and awareness of business processes, product releases, and new functionality and effectively translate capabilities to campus partners.
- Work with third-party vendors to integrate the Student Information System (SIS) with other institutional platforms, such as Learning Management Systems (LMS), Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools, event scheduling, document management, finance, etc.
- Write and implement test plans for system updates or new modules, workflows and forms.
- Coordinate with campus partners, developers, service desk, IT security, and vendors as necessary in providing resolutions to system issues.
- Maintain compliance with data security regulations, such as FERPA, and institutional policies and ensure proper handling of student records and sensitive information.

Minimum Qualifications:
Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 5 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Master’s degree or higher in a relevant area of study plus 3 years of relevant professional experience. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Additional Required Licenses/Certifications/Posting Specific Minimum Qualifications:
Preferred Qualifications:
- Higher Education Work experience preferred
- Experience as developer or analyst for a major ERP package such as Ellucian, Oracle, Workday, Peoplesoft, SAP is preferred.
- Experience with Ellucian Banner, Ethos, Coursedog, DegreeWorks, course and event scheduling tools, document management applications, workflow automation tools, or job scheduling applications desired.
- Communicating, influencing, motivating and negotiating effectively with a variety of stakeholders, including functional management and personnel, IT staff, and vendors
- Facilitating discussions on defining, designing, and building complete integrated business solutions (processes and tools) with clients and IT developers
- Experience working in an agile environment with iterative development methodologies is desired.
- Ability to write SQL queries or reports to extract data and generate custom reports out of a relational database per business needs and data analysis is desired
- Technical knowledge of software development lifecycle and systems analysis is preferred
- Demonstrate ability to multitask and coordinate with supervisor and team on competing priorities
- Good organization skills with the ability to exercise discretion and ingenuity to determine the proper course of action while following established standards
- Innovative and resourceful with strong drive for building relationships and delivering results
