About the Job
We are looking for aSenior Engineer for Directed Energywith demonstrated experience in cutting edge technology, engineering, analysis of alternatives, capability management and demonstration (including technology transfer), technical demonstrations and evaluations, and requirements analysis to work on-site at the Pentagon! The Sr.
Eng is required to exhibit specialized skills in Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDT&E) within technical areas pertaining to directed energy, such as: optics, lasers, and radio frequency sources.
The candidate must be able to work daily on-site at the Pentagon.
As aSenior Engineer for Directed Energyyou will:
• Work to evaluate and secure cutting-edge technology essential to the modernization of national strategy in defense.
• Work with a team of driven, supportive and highly skilled professionals.

A week in the life of aSenior Engineer for Directed Energy:
• Develop and coordinate concepts and requirements for the application of current and emerging Directed Energy technologies as they apply across the DoD.
• Maintain and update Directed Energy roadmaps, coordinate roadmaps with key stakeholders.
• Assist and prepare presentations and reports to DoD leadership and outside DoD.
• Track the department-wide budget for efforts aligning with Directed Energy.
• Assist, prepare and conduct meetings for Directed Energy Principal Directors Office.
• Conduct Directed Energy technology research analysis for future warfighting construct.
• Provide programmatic expertise to the Government from system concept definition through technology transfer activities.
• Provide policy guidance, and coordination for the Research and Engineering (R&E) programs in the Military Services and Defense Agencies on all relevant science and technology matters in Directed Energy as identified by the National Defense Strategy.
• Make recommendations to the development of Concepts of Operations (CONOPS) pertinent to mission needs and technical capabilities.
• Represent OUSD R&E Principal Director for Directed Energy on Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and participate in Government-approved conferences and forums in addition to specific USD R&E projects.
Job Requirements
• TS/SCI Clearance
• Master's degree in STEM.
• Minimum 10 years of experienceinengineering, cybersecurity, and Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDT&E).
• Previous experience in engineering, analysis of alternatives, integration, requirements, and testing.
• Excellent writing, communication and briefing skills.
