About the Job
As the Senior Engineer, you will be supporting the Airborne High Frequency Radio Modernization program to plan and implement all AN/ARC-260 High Frequency radio development, production, and sustainment activities to support fielding of 2.5K radios across 14 aircraft platforms and organic depot activation at Warner Robins Air Logistics Complex, Robins Air Force Base, Georgia.
This position is contingent upon your ability to maintain/transfer an active DoD Top-Secret/SCI clearance.
In this role, you will:
- Understand and execute robust DoD/AF acquisition and sustainment systems engineering processes to support the development, fielding, and sustainment of the Airborne High Frequency Radio Modernization (AHFRM) program.
- Experience in executing DoD-5000 acquisition policies to include disciplined system engineering practices required to provide robust engineering analysis and technical planning activities.
- Monitor and provide feedback on technical efforts of other AHFRM enterprise members to include Prime Contractors, Sub-Contractors, and Government entities.
- Provide technical support for program functions to include Program Management, Sustainment, Equipment Specialists, Cyber Security, Test, and Contracting.
- Prepare and coordinate program-level documentation for milestone and acquisition reviews.
- Understanding of DoD software development processes to include deficiency report disposition using agile processes.
- Understanding of DoD manufacturing processes to include DCMA and engineering support requirements.
- Understanding of the Spectrum Approval/Frequency allocation process requirements needed to submit and obtain Stage 4 approval for Equipment Frequency Allocation (DD Form 1494) from NTIA.
- Responsible for planning, managing, and coordination of follow-on development efforts with Government and contractor personnel.
- Perform periodic independent systems evaluations and develop recommendations for system improvements after performing thorough studies and analysis.
- Monitor both organizational and contractor compliance relevant to milestone and system performance criteria.
- Collaborate and plan with various appropriate personnel to coordinate and/or integrate operations and interests of other organizations.
- Gather facts and develop appropriate solutions to problems that require attention due to their critical nature and are of high visibility.
- Use conflict resolution leadership to obtain agreement on required actions, and schedules concerning program or policy matters.
- Perform duties independently, as a team member and/or as a team lead.
- Manage product’s technical life cycle from design to disposal.
- Direct allocation of resources to achieve schedule milestones/events.
- Develop business relationships with Government, contractors, suppliers, and clients.

Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A U.S. citizenship.
- This position is contingent upon your ability to maintain/transfer an active DoD Top-Secret/SCI clearance.
- An engineering Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of relevant experience.
- or Master's degree and 6 years of relevant experience.
- The capability of working with functional groups and knowledge with integrating hardware, software, and automatic test equipment.
- Familiarity with DoD acquisition processes including technology maturation, software development, cyber security requirements, risk reduction, engineering management and development, production, and deployment activities.
- Familiarity with USAF airborne radio communications and aircraft interface systems to ensure successful integration efforts.
- Experience with Depot Activation and Depot Maintenance Activation Working Groups.
- Experience with platform integration (Program Office, Material Management, MAJCOM, and User).
- Experience reviewing deliverables, to include SOW, SRD and CDRLs, and documenting administrative, substantive, and critical comments.
- Capability to review design documentation and provide critical comments/corrections.
- The ability to travel 10%.
Additional desired experience and skills:
- Experience with AN/ARC-190 or like High Frequency Radio system.
- Familiar with Microsoft Project and Integrated Master Schedules.
- Capable of generating and presenting PowerPoint presentations.
- Capable of generating background/point papers.
