Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineer with expertise in Microsoft 365 and Azure services to lead the management, security, and optimization of our cloud-based environment. The ideal candidate will bring a comprehensive understanding of Microsoft 365 applications, along with extensive hands-on experience in Azure services, including policy enforcement, monitoring, and compliance. This role will require a deep understanding of security tools such as Proofpoint and Valimail, as well as a strong grasp of Azure’s advanced capabilities for identity and access management, data protection, and automated monitoring.
Job Responsibilities:
+ Manage and optimize the Microsoft 365 suite, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and related services, ensuring security, compliance, and performance.
+ Implement and manage Azure Policy to enforce organizational standards, and leverage Azure Monitor to continuously track system performance, diagnose issues, and respond to alerts.
+ Lead the deployment and configuration of Proofpoint for email security, threat protection, and compliance.
+ Configure Valimail or similar tools for email authentication and domain protection to ensure secure communications.
+ Administer and support Azure Active Directory for user management, single sign-on (SSO), multi-factor authentication (MFA), and identity and access management (IAM).
+ Utilize Azure Security Center and Microsoft Defender for Cloud to secure cloud resources, manage security posture, and respond to security alerts.
+ Develop, implement, and enforce governance policies within Microsoft 365 and Azure to ensure security, compliance, and consistency across all cloud environments.
+ Collaborate with IT, security, and compliance teams to establish data protection protocols and enforce regulatory standards.
+ Use PowerShell and automation scripts to streamline operations, ensure policy compliance, and manage large-scale deployments and updates.
+ Act as the subject matter expert for escalated support issues related to Microsoft 365, Proofpoint, Valimail, and Azure services.
+ Perform regular audits and reporting on Azure resource utilization, policy compliance, and performance metrics.
+ Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging tools within Microsoft 365, Azure, and related security and monitoring solutions.
Job Requirements:
_Required Experience:_
+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; relevant certifications are a plus (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert).
+ Minimum of 5 years of experience managing Microsoft 365 environments and Azure cloud services.
+ Proven experience with Proofpoint administration for email security and compliance.
+ Familiarity with Valimail or similar email authentication tools.
+ Deep expertise with Azure Policy, Azure Monitor, and Azure Security Center for policy enforcement, monitoring, and compliance.
+ Proficiency in managing Azure Active Directory, identity management, and MFA configurations.
+ Strong understanding of compliance standards and regulatory requirements as they apply to Microsoft 365 and Azure.
+ Solid experience with PowerShell scripting and automation within Microsoft 365 and Azure environments.
+ Strong analytical skills and a problem-solving mindset with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
+ Excellent communication skills with a focus on translating technical requirements for business stakeholders.
_Preferred Experience:_
+ Certifications in Proofpoint, Valimail, or Azure Security are highly valued.
+ Familiarity with Microsoft 365 Compliance Center, Security Center, and Microsoft Defender for Cloud.
+ Experience in enterprise-level Azure and Microsoft 365 environments, especially in global or multi-tenant deployments.
The successful candidate will have a superior, service-oriented approach to infrastructure operations and solid technical infrastructure experience including architecture, engineering, and cloud.
The expected Total Compensation for this role is $85,863 - $114,000 + annual bonus. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
