This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.The St.
Louis E3 Design Integration Team is responsible for various tasks including but not limited to analysis, concept development, design implementation, and verification tasks on various Boeing Defense programs.
The position requires interfacing with multiple disciplines across The Boeing Company (Engineering, Product Support, Manufacturing, etc.), external customers, suppliers, and multiple levels of the organization to manage compliance to design integration requirements.Position Responsibilities for Experienced Level:Develops and validates requirements for various subsystems (e.g.
communication, sensor, electronic warfare and other electromagnetic systems and components), mechanical subsystems, interconnects and structuresE3 program planning, authoring E3 support documentation, continuous program E3 oversight and visibility, and product manufacturing supportPerforms E3 research and development activities supporting advanced programsOversees supplier electromagnetic testing for compliance with procedures and standardsManages assignments within allocated budgets, on schedule, and with high quality resultsIdentification, analysis, requirements allocation, coordination, application, and verification of E3 design requirements to ensure compliance with system performance requirementsDevelops architectures to integrate systems and components into higher level systems and platformsPerforms trade studies, modeling, simulation and other forms of analysis to predict component, interconnects and system performance and to optimize design around established requirementsDefines and conducts tests to validate performance of designs to requirementsManages appropriate aspects of supplier and partner performance to ensure compliance to requirementsProvides support to products throughout their life cycle by developing root-cause analysis of anomalies and other engineering support as requestedSupports project management by providing work statement, budget, schedule and other required inputs and by reporting project statusWrites appropriate sections of proposals to support development of new businessPrimary responsibilities for Senior/Lead Level:Develops and validates requirements for various communication, sensor, electronic warfare and other electromagnetic systems and componentsDevelops and validates electromagnetic requirements for electrical\electronic systems, mechanical systems, interconnects and structuresDevelops architectures to integrate systems and components into higher level systems and platformsPerforms trade studies, modeling, simulation and other forms of analysis to predict component, interconnects and system performance and to optimize design around established requirementsDefines and conducts tests to validate performance of designs to requirementsManages appropriate aspects of supplier and partner performance to ensure compliance to requirementsProvides support to products throughout their life cycle by developing root-cause analysis of anomalies and other engineering support as requestedSupports project management by providing work statement, budget, schedule and other required inputs and by reporting project statusWrites appropriate sections of proposals to support development of new businessProvides general mentorshipCertification as TEMPEST Professional (CTP-I or CTP-II) desired but not requiredThis position is expected to be 100% onsite. Secret Clearance Post-Start is requiredBasic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.Engineering experience with EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility), EMI (Electromagnetic Interference) or E3 (Electromagnetic Environmental Effects)14+ years of work related experience with a Bachelor’s OR 12+ years work related experience with a Masters OR 9+ years work related experience with a PhDWilling to Travel Domestically and internationally as neededPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):B.S Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or PhysicsExperience with relevant aircraft electromagnetic standards: MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464, RTCA DO-160Experience in a role which required knowledge of MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-1275, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464, DO-160, IEC-61000, and/or FCC part 15Experience with written and verbal communication and leading projects, along with the ability to make decisions and deliver resultsExperience working within an engineering organizationExperience with lightning testing and analysisCertification as TEMPEST Professional (CTP-I or CTP-II)Typical Education for Lead Level:Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g.
