About the Job
This position is responsible for the development and design of new complex embedded systems, involving the application of electronics, firmware, and software to achieve company's objectives and customer requirements.
How You Will Make a Difference
- Leads project work for new product development and sustaining projects with moderate to high complexity. Project work may include, but is not limited to, PCB design (schematic and layout) and validation, electromechanical system design and validation, firmware (C, C++) development and validation. Coordinates with appropriate personnel on electronic hardware required, appearance and suitability of final package.
- Contributes to concept development of new product ideas. Follows technology and standards trends to identify technology opportunities.
- Conducts feasibility studies of new project assignments; determines suitability of proposed specifications; compiles required data, following prescribed procedures.
- Contributes to project planning by defining work breakdown structure and schedule for project deliverables. Successfully manages project work to plan. Follows progress of work, anticipates or investigates causes of delay or inadequate performance, mitigate risks and communicates status as required.
- Approves assigned ECOs; provides technical guidance to younger engineers
- Primary point of contact for sustaining issues. Strong ability to perform Root Cause and Effective/Timely Corrective Action.
- Generally independent, collaborative in nature. Strong understanding of electrical work interfaces and interacts with engineering work done in other disciplines.
- Requires occasional guidance from Sr. Engineers. Provides technical guidance to younger engineers. Shows strong judgment in escalation, execution, or delegation of tasks
- Strong in electrical engineering discipline and Dynisco technologies. Growing industry knowledge in Plastics, Oil & Gas.
- Works from customer requests, specifications, written and/or verbal instructions (both well defined and loosely defined) to design and develop required electronic circuitry and system architecture for complex new products; prepares necessary schematics, drawings, analysis; prototypes and conducts final acceptance testing to determine conformance with pre-determined objectives.
- Sets up design reviews with appropriate personnel to review schedule and goals, as directed.
- Protects Dynisco by keeping information confidential.
- Accomplishes engineering and organization mission by completing related assignments as needed.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong ability to design, test, and troubleshoot new and existing PCB designs required
- Strong analog circuit design skills and experience a plus
- Firmware coding experience in C required, C++ and Assembly a plus
- Soldering and electrical assembly skills required
- Experience coding applications and services for the Windows platform using .Net and C# a plus.
- Knowledge of JavaScript, HTML and/or CSS a plus
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering required
