POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, the Senior Director of Finance will be responsible for the management and leadership of the Finance, Revenue Cycle Management, Information Technology, and Facilities departments; as well as all accounting functions, cash management, contract management, budget leadership and coordinator of the annual audit. The Senior Director of Finance will set the organization's financial policy and direction while also being an active participant in, and driver of, the organization's overall strategy. Educational/Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a closely related field required.
- Master's degree in Finance, Business Administration (MBA), or a related discipline preferred.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), or other relevant financial certification preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in financial management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within a non-profit organization.
- Extensive knowledge and practical application of financial regulations and reporting requirements specific to the non-profit sector, including IRS 990 filings, fund accounting, and grant compliance.
- Proven experience in strategic financial planning, budget development, and financial forecasting within a non-profit context.
- Demonstrated success in managing and securing funding streams, including grants, donations, and government contracts.
- Experience leading audits, internal financial controls, and risk management processes.
- Strong background in developing and implementing financial policies that ensure financial health and sustainability for non-profits.
- Proficiency with non-profit financial software and accounting systems (e.g., Great Plains,).
- Exceptional leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to manage and mentor finance teams in non-profit settings.
- Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate with board members, senior management, and external stakeholders to align financial strategies with organizational goals.
- Experience in advocating for financial transparency and fostering a culture of accountability and ethical financial practices.
