Federal Reserve Bank of ChicagoThe Senior Data Scientist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago supports the research of staff economists and policy professionals. This position is considered advanced level and performs work of moderate to high complexity. The work is completed under general supervision and largely autonomously.

Your Responsibilities
- Obtains and prepares datasets and manages databases from internal and external sources.
- Designs and executes statistical models and algorithms and prepares output, including visualizations.
- Supports development and use of cutting-edge tools including machine learning models and other advanced analytic techniques.
- Communicates results and insights in a clear and concise manner to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Collaborates with staff to understand business needs for advanced analytics.
Your Background
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, or commensurate specialized training, certification, or work experience.
- Minimum three years of work experience.
Knowledge and Skills
- Advanced proficiency in coding and experience in several programming languages.
- Advanced knowledge and understanding in statistical modeling and data analysis techniques, platforms, and software.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced knowledge of cloud data platforms, technologies, frameworks, and solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Additional Requirements:
- This is a hybrid position requiring a minimum of two days per week in office.
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
- This position has additional screening requirements due to the information accessed while performing the job. These additional screenings would be initiated at the time of offer acceptance and can take approximately two months to be completed. The expected starting salary range for this position is between 130,900 to 154,800 annually in addition to annual performance-based discretionary bonuses. Final salary and offer will be determined based on the applicant’s relevant experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographic and other market data.
