About the Job
This position will be a key member of our corporate communications team-developing and executing our social media strategy across Maximus' corporate social accounts and supporting corporate communications throughout the organization. Your efforts will support our Federal, U.S. Services, Corporate, and Recruitment stakeholders and will be imperative to delivering influential content to our various audiences while monitoring our reputation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Research, gather and synthesize scientific and policy information translating that information into understandable, audience appropriate communication products.
- Understand, interpret, identify and select appropriate and scientifically accurate and understandable images and graphics to enhance communication products on a regular basis usable by a variety of audiences.
- Provide written and oral communications to support the client in relaying clear, concise, and understandable information to various target audiences.
- Includes developing and editing audience-appropriate reports, news articles, technical publications, brochures, periodicals, speeches, audio-visual materials, profiles, feature stories and Q & As for online, social media and printed content.
- Write, coordinate and upload stories, videos, and pictures to government websites and social media sites including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts.
- Release monthly and weekly newsletter for national and international audiences.
- Develop, explain and support data visualization materials on climate related topics using leading edge technologies to present information in a scientifically accurate, easy to use, and understandable medium for use by the targeted public.
- Locate high-quality sources of imagery, photos and visualization templates for use in formatting assets.
- Routine image preparation tasks include cropping, sub setting, color correction and other tasks, as needed, to provide the best quality image for the desired medium.
- Communicate scientific data and information through visual means.
- Includes but is not limited to the design, production, and display of photographs, graphics, data visualizations, videos, physical displays (such as models or live demonstrations), slides, and charts for the Internet, infographics, pamphlets, exhibits, live or video recorded speeches or lectures, and other means of communicating and go through multiple review cycles, as needed, with NOAA until it is scientifically accurate and understandable by the targeted audience.
- Explain and organize scientific and technical information in a popular style that is easily understandable and usable by non- scientists.
- Work with subject matter experts, when needed, to ensure the information or product is scientifically accurate and understandable by the targeted public
Additional Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Content Creation. Identify, reproduce, coordinate and execute on-brand messaging across social media and other platforms to meet the diverse goals of our Federal, U.S. Services, Recruitment and Corporate Stakeholders-including video, podcasts, newsletters, SEO/SEM, etc.
- Employee Advocacy: Manage day-to-day operations of the company's employee advocacy program-including curating content for advocates, nurturing our community of advocates, and executing the program's retention and recruitment strategies.
- Paid Digital and Social Media. Develop and execute paid digital and social media campaigns that drive online traffic and revenue. This includes managing budgets, creating ad copy, targeting audience segments, and analyzing campaign performance.
- Community Management. Monitor social media channels, engage with followers, respond to comments and messages, and foster meaningful interactions to build and nurture a loyal community.
- Strategy Development. Support the development and execution of comprehensive social media strategies that align with overarching company goals and brand identity.
- Analytics & Reporting. Research, track, and analyze customer behaviors and trends and implement research into campaigns. Use social media analytics tool to track and analyze key metrics, evaluate the performance of organic social media content, and provide actionable insights for optimization.
- Other. Collaborate with internal clients to be sure that external communications channels are used effectively, and content is brand compliant. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience; Advanced degree or professional designation preferred.
- Develops solutions to a variety of complex problems.
- Work requires considerable judgment and initiative.
- Exerts some influence on the overall objectives and long-range goals of the organization.
Additional Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree from and accredited college or university required, preferred field of study in Communications, Digital Marketing, Media Studies, Public Relations, or English
- Three to five (3-5) years of experience required preferably in a corporate or government setting
- Exceptional writing and editing skills required
- Experience using Sprinklr or similar social media management tools preferred
- Experience using Canva or other design software preferred
- Proficiency in photo and video editing software preferred
- Experience with SEO and SEM strategy and keyword research
- Knowledge of Associated Press (AP) style writing preferred
- Expert use of Microsoft PowerPoint and Word; proficient use of Excel required
- Understanding of website analytics tools, such as Google Analytics
- Education or work experience in communications, media relations and tailored writing for different audiences required
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and campaigns at once.
- Experience in providing informed recommendations to senior-level management preferred
- Knowledge of best practices for social media platforms such as Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.

Pay Transparency
Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to job location, a candidate's education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment. Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards. Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
