What would you do as a Senior Collector?
As a Senior Collector at SkyOne Federal Credit Union, you will play a vital role in managing impaired loans while safeguarding the credit union's assets. Your primary responsibilities will include coordinating with partners such as the Loan Service Center and external vendors to effectively reduce delinquency rates and enhance recoveries. You will lead collection efforts through phone calls, letters, and skip tracing for delinquent accounts, ensuring prompt resolutions to member issues that arise. Additionally, you will prepare various delinquency reports and repossession worksheets for management's review, while driving repossession progress and maintaining accurate records.
As a mentor to junior staff, you will foster a culture of performance and accountability while keeping abreast of compliance regulations. This dynamic role offers opportunities to achieve delinquency and charge-off targets, positioning you at the forefront of our mission to improve our members' financial lives.
What are we looking for in a Senior Collector?
To excel as a Senior Collector at SkyOne Federal Credit Union, candidates should possess a robust skill set essential for managing impaired loans. A minimum of three years of collection experience within a financial institution is preferred, alongside bilingual proficiency in Spanish to cater to our diverse member base. While a college degree is preferred, practical knowledge of basic bankruptcy concepts, including Chapter 7 and 13, is critical. A firm grasp of DMV processes and compliance issues related to Real Estate, Consumer lending, and Collections is also necessary.
Candidates should have 1-2 years of collections reporting experience and demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Excel and Word is required, along with a solid understanding of consumer credit lending and variable interest rates. Additionally, the ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure while maintaining professionalism is vital for success in this fast-paced role.
