Job Details
Responsibilities:
- Manage and engineer municipal projects, including the design and construction of water mains, sanitary and storm sewers, roads, and sidewalks, along with oversight of various related studies such as water reliability studies, feasibility studies, and capital improvement plan development.
- Lead preliminary and final design phases, as well as provide construction phase services for municipal projects.
- Conduct technical analysis and documentation to support project development.
- Define and oversee project scope, budget, and schedule.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Supervise and mentor project team members, including setting goals, problem-solving, coaching, and providing career guidance.
- Collaborate and coordinate with the Business Development team on pursuit strategies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering and PE registration in Michigan (MI)
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience preferred
- Experience with MDOT LAP (Local Agency Program) preliminary and construction engineering is a plus
- Proficiency in the study, planning, design, and project management of municipal water and wastewater infrastructure, as well as transportation projects, including coordination with funding agencies and permitting processes
- Construction administration and field review experience for municipal projects; construction management experience is desirable
- Proven experience in client management, including preparing and adhering to budgets and schedules
- Strong skills in relationship development and proposal preparation
- Familiarity with municipal, township, and county government practices and regulations
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
