Role Overview:
The Business Intelligence Lead will play a key leadership role in defining and implementing BI standards and strategies for the company. This individual will establish the vision for business intelligence, set reporting design standards, and collaborate with various departments to ensure BI solutions are effective, scalable, and secure. The role requires a combination of technical expertise, leadership ability, and a strategic mindset, as the BI Lead will influence and support BI developers across the company while advocating for a data-driven culture that maximizes the value of business intelligence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define BI Vision & Best Practices: Lead the development and implementation of business intelligence best practices across the organization, including executive dashboards, mobile KPIs, and self-service reporting environments.
- Design Standards: Set standards for report and dashboard design, ensuring a user-friendly, impactful visual experience that aligns with human-centered design principles.
- Strategic BI Leadership: Provide strategic leadership in the development of high-performance, enterprise-wide reporting solutions, collaborating with IT to define technology and data standards.
- Influence & Advise: Lead and influence BI initiatives across the entire organization, advising and mentoring BI developers embedded within the business units to ensure alignment with overarching BI goals.
- BI Community of Practice: Host and lead the company’s BI Community of Practice, fostering knowledge sharing, promoting best practices, and driving the continuous improvement of BI outputs across the organization.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with business leaders and IT teams to ensure the BI strategy supports key business objectives and enables data-driven decision-making at all levels.
- Training & Support: Provide guidance and training to both technical and non-technical users to ensure effective use of BI tools and dashboards across the organization.
- Stay at the Cutting Edge: Continuously evaluate and integrate new BI tools, technologies, and trends to keep the company’s BI capabilities competitive and innovative.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience: At least 10 years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or related fields, with significant experience in a leadership or advisory role within large enterprises.
- Expertise in BI Tools: Strong proficiency with BI platforms such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools. Experience designing and maintaining sophisticated reports and interactive dashboards is essential.
- SQL & Data Modeling: Expertise in SQL, data modeling, and understanding of data warehousing concepts. Familiarity with programming languages like Python or R is a plus.
- Leadership & Mentorship: Proven leadership skills with the ability to mentor and guide BI teams and influence stakeholders across different business units.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively convey complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders and senior leadership.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Databricks Certified Associate Developer for Apache Spark, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or similar are a plus.
- Analytical Mindset: Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail, with a focus on translating data into actionable business insights.
