Responsibilities:- The selected candidate will work in the Northeast Bridges & Structures group of the Company’s Infrastructure Division on various projects including new or rehabilitated highway, rail and pedestrian bridges and culverts, retaining walls and temporary structures for contractors.
- The selected candidate will lead the technical design and assigned staff on bridge projects, developing work plans for various bridge designs, coordinate with other interfacing disciplines and perform calculations, computer modeling, design and drawing reviews, cost estimating, develop specifications/construction documents and lead construction phase support tasks.
- Assist in the mentoring and development of design staff.
- Participate in the development and updates of internal standards of practices.
- Perform quality control and assurance checks on design computations, computer modeling, CAD drawings, reports, estimates and specifications.
- Serve as a point of contact for clients, other design professionals, and contractors.
- Act as quality coordinator for discipline led projects.
- Assist in the development of technical narratives, scope and fee for project pursuits.
- May serve on professional association committees for establishment of policies, standards, procedures, and research at a local, state, or national level.
- May represent the company and present projects at professional and technical society conferences and seminars.
- May stamp/sign drawings or reports and/or serve as Engineer of Record for the project.
- Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering, Masters a plus.
- 8-15 + years of professional design engineering work related to bridges or structures.
- P.E. license required in New York State or ability to obtain one.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil3D and/or MicroStation a plus.
- Ability to work independently.
- Strong work ethic and willingness for continued learning.
- Knowledge of NYSDOT, AASHTO and AREMA design codes a plus.
Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
Compensation: $84,838.18 to $119,502.82 per year (depending on qualifications)
