SUMMARY
Become a subject matter expert and assist with the administration of Westlake’s Salesforce instance including Manufacturing Cloud, Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Commerce, Pardot and app exchange solutions. Have solid knowledge of related applications, data systems, and data flows, and to assist in supporting business process improvements. This is a hybrid role between an Administrator and a Developer. The Candidate will report to and handle projects/support across SAP SD and Digital Office Teams.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
May include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Salesforce Maintenance & Administration.
- Execute needed configuration changes, data feeds, and data integration with other business systems (i.e. SAP, Bourque, TMS).
- Coordinate with users, vendors, and the 3rd party partners to identify issues, develop recommended solutions, gain approvals for designed solutions, and work to implement value add solutions.
- Streamline workflow automation and ensure approvals are secured per company policies, business structure, and processes.
- Review and update organizational metadata as needed.
- Document processes, user guides, FAQs, error reports, and changes.
- Coordinate efforts and priorities with Salesforce Administrators and business personnel as needed.
- Maintain successful salesforce backup using OwnBackup.
- Salesforce Development
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions within Salesforce.
- Develop and customize Salesforce solutions to support and streamline business processes, including the creation of custom objects, workflows, validation rules, and other customizations as needed.
- Integrates Salesforce with 3rd party systems using web services, APIs, and AppExchange packages
- Perform data migrations, data maintenance, and data quality initiatives within the Salesforce platform.
- Create and maintain reports and dashboards to provide actionable insights for various teams and departments.
- Assist in the development of user training materials and provide training and support to end-users as needed.
- Stay current with Salesforce updates, best practices, and emerging technologies to ensure the organization's Salesforce implementation remains up-to-date and efficient.
- Collaborate with External SI/Vendors (Champcon, Shift 7, Avionos and CBS) to ensure successful project delivery and effective communication throughout the development lifecycle.
- Salesforce User Support.
- Provide daily problem resolution, data correction, and user support.
- Troubleshoot support cases and platform issues, and escalate as appropriate.
- Identify and bridge process/information gaps experienced by Salesforce users.
- Provide training, coaching, and support to users at various organizational levels.
- Assist in oversight of user accounts and licenses, including setup and deactivation of users, roles, profiles, permissions, public groups, etc.
- Build customizations on Apps, Objects, Page layouts, list views, reports, and dashboards per business requirements.
- Data Systems.
- Develop knowledge of related SQL databases, data they contain, data flows, and business processes and rules.
- Project management.
- Work with users, business, IT, and project sponsors to define effective solutions and assist in preparing required documentation for business projects.
- Perform post-deployment evaluations to validate solution against requirements.
- Assist with Program Management meetings.
- Keep Manager, Supply Optimization and IS Salesforce Administrator regularly updated on progress, including issues encountered and recommended actions needed to address them.
- Comply with all Company policies and procedures.
- Fully support the Company goals of continuous improvement and operational excellence at strategic and tactical levels including reviewing area of responsibility for improvement opportunities to initiate projects or communicate ideas to management as well as active participation on project teams.
- Perform any additional responsibilities or tasks as assigned.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, science, engineering or related discipline and/or 5+ years of equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 5 + years of experience as a Salesforce administrator
- Salesforce Admin certifications required – ADM 201 and ADM 211.
- Salesforce Developer certifications – Platform App Builder, Developer I and Developer II is a plus.
- Knowledge of integration tools and techniques for Salesforce, such as REST and SOAP APIs.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
- Solid background in developing Apex Code, Lightning Web Component, Flow, Validation Rules, Approval Processes, and has a proven track record of delivering complex Salesforce solutions while delivering quality code.
- Familiar with Visualforce page/code.
- Familiar with application development software and hardware platforms.
- Experience with other CRM systems and related technologies.
- Understands all aspects of Salesforce configuration and technical/functional capabilities, including potential system implications of changes
- Ability to perform new Salesforce release evaluations with business owner & plan new functionality rollouts
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and exceeding end user expectations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Prefer business experience related to chemical industry.
- Must have knowledge of computer software systems, and be capable of learning, understanding, and utilizing additional skills around these systems and the applications on them.
- Must be able to conduct analysis of data, to reason through computational logic, to translate logic into computer systems, and to enter data into computer systems to achieve desired outcomes.
- Must be able to provide training and support to users of computer software systems.
- Must be a self-starter, self-motivating with effective communication skills, strong written and verbal skills.
- Must possess knowledge of Trailhead, Manufacturing Cloud, Sales Cloud, Service Cloud and Salesforce B2B Commerce Storefront experience.
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as normally based in an office. Some of the work may be required in the operating units which can require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc. May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators.
