The Turboshaft Engines Project Engineering team has an opening for a Senior Advanced Project Engineer to lead development of moderately complex engine systems, component design, test activity and aircraft OEM support. Successful candidates must be able to demonstrate the interest, aptitude, and experience associated with the design, development, test and support of gas turbine engines for rotary-wing applications. This role involves a partnership with another engine manufacturer so excellent communication and leadership are essential.

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Lead the design, development, test and in-service support activity through all aspects of the Integrated Product Delivery and Support (IPDS) process, on schedule, on budget and in compliance with all technical requirements.
+ Broad indirect span of control of approximately 6 full time equivalent engineers.
+ Cost account manager for assigned scope, including Earned Value Management System reporting. Annual budgetary responsibility approximately $3M.
+ Expected to serve as the single point engineering leader for the Honeywell portion of the engine.
+ Lead a diverse cross functional team to accomplish the scope.
Escalate effectively with leadership and cross-functionally across the organization.
+ Strong commitment to customer satisfaction.
+ Bias toward creative thinking and innovation in product design and approach to everyday work.
+ Implement design-to-cost and variation-reduction strategies.
+ Promote and build strong team working relationships.
+ Manage within very difficult resource constraints.
+ Identify gaps and risks on behalf of the team.
+ Balances workload of the team members.
+ Monitor work of team members to recognize when they are “stuck” or “off track”.
+ Leverages technical experts to review the technical work of the team.
+ Leads trade studies and RCCA activities.
+ Communicate project status with internal and external customers.
YOU MUST HAVE
+ Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics.
+ 5+ years’ engineering experience in design, development, and/or test of gas turbine engines or similarly complex mechanical system.
