What this Position Does: This position will be responsible for helping run and manage the accounting function for the company. This position will be responsible for providing valuable input into processes, upper management reporting, and will be responsible for managing a team of 2-3 individuals.
The Day-to-Day Responsibilities This Person will be Overseeing:
- Direct the accounting month-end close process (bank reconciliations, reclasses and accrual entries, financial statements, etc).
- Provide timely, accurate, and concise financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Assist with coordinating and prepare the year-end tax packages for review by the controller and third-party tax preparers.
- Assist in completing and reviewing the annual operating budget process.
- Oversee and maintain the accounts payable function (invoices, payables, weekly check runs, etc.)
- Prepare and review lender escrow and replacement reserve draw, also responsible for required reporting to lenders.
- Prepare and maintain job cost reporting and reconciliations for development project.
- Communicate as needed with lenders and third-party tax consultants.
- Assist as needed with annual office and property CAM reconciliation.
- Miscellaneous duties and ad hoc reporting as required.
- Ensure a professional appearance and manner for oneself and all personnel at all times.

What Education and/or Experience You Will Bring to the Table:Bachelor’s degree or MBA in Accounting or finance or related field required. At least three to five years of related experience required. Yardi experience preferred, but not required.
Communication Skills Involved with the Position: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to prepare reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, residents, customers, and the general public.
Analytical Abilities this Person Will Bring to the Table:Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
