We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the monthly close process, including accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and expense accruals. This role requires a thorough review of invoices, ensuring the accuracy of AP and bank information, managing accruals, and handling prepaid expenses. The Senior Accountant will also be responsible for operational accounting tasks and ensuring compliance with ASC 606 revenue recognition standards. Additionally, the candidate will focus on automating and optimizing the close process to improve efficiency and accuracy. This position involves close collaboration with the Controller and an outsourced accounting firm to ensure a seamless and efficient month-end close process.

Job Details
Key Responsibilities:
Monthly Close Process:
- Oversee and manage the monthly close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Reconcile and analyze general ledger accounts, including AP, AR, and expense accruals.
- Coordinate with the outsourced accounting firm and the Controller to ensure all necessary information is provided for the month-end close.
Accounts Payable and Receivable:
- Review and process invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Verify and maintain correct AP and bank information.
- Manage AR processes, including billing and collections.
Expense Accruals and Prepaid Expenses:
- Accurately record and monitor expense accruals.
- Handle prepaid expenses, ensuring proper allocation and amortization.
Operational Accounting:
- Perform day-to-day operational accounting tasks, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
ASC 606 Revenue Recognition:
- Ensure compliance with ASC 606 revenue recognition standards.
- Review contracts and agreements to determine proper revenue recognition treatment.
- Prepare and maintain documentation to support revenue recognition decisions.
Automation and Optimization:
- Identify opportunities to automate and streamline the monthly close process.
- Implement best practices and tools to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaborate with IT and other departments to enhance accounting systems and processes.
- Work with the Controller to integrate their processes and systems for optimal efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and ASC 606 revenue recognition standards.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proven record of working remotely.
